On June 2nd, Lars Jacob gave the presentation “How to develop sustainable business models” (“Hvordan utvikle bærekraftige forretningsmodeller?”) at the Spring Conference 2015 at NHH Norwegian School of Economics. The spring conference is held annually and is an important venue for Norwegian executives from business and public organizations. This year’s theme was “A world in unrest: Investments, risk and responsibility” (“En verden i uro: investeringer, risiko og ansvar”).
The other speakers were minister Vidar Helgesen who talked about Norwegian foreign policy for business in difficult markets; ILPI researcher Cecilie Hellestveit , who talked about Islam as geopolitical force; NHH researcher Torfinn Harding , who talked about institutions influence on willingness to invest; Statoil’s Geir Westgaard , who talked about investments in difficult markets; CEO Tore Lærdal in Lærdal Global Health , who talked about making money by doing good, and CEO Elisabeth Klerck Nilssen from Safi International , who talked about being an entrepreneur with a double bottom-line in Africa. The day was opened by rector Frøystein Gjesdal and professor Tor W. Andreassen who led the program committee, while professor Klaus Mohn from the University of Stavanger moderated the event.
